Cottage was clean and homely. Had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay (including great weather!). A nice, small but secure and sunny private garden. Peaceful neighbourhood (friendly neighbours too). Within easy walking distance to the Pier and into the town for shops and eating out. The area is very dog friendly, with some lovely walks available.

Our first visit to Southwold and it definitely won't be our last. Although it was in the middle of January, we were only confined to the house one day due to inclement weather. Southwold has an abundance of excellent eating establishments and we tried most of them. Seamist was a comfortable and clean cottage in a quiet position. Well equipped with all you need for a relaxing holiday. Parking in front of the cottage is a squeeze if you have a larger car, but that should't put anyone off.

We had a wonderful holiday. The bungalow was perfect and it was lovely to arrive at a warm property ,with a tea and cake and your gift of shopping bag. Everywhere was spotless, the bed very comfortable and the property is the best equipped we have stayed in.We were able to relax from the outset. The only problem was parking as we have an estate and the reversing area was too small. However we parked on the road after the first day.Very well equipped, clean and comfortable, good heating system for winter breaks.

We ranged in age from 6 to 88 with 2 dogs. Check in and out was easy and the house was comfortable. The property and the kitchen are well equipped, bedrooms are attractive with comfy beds and nice linen. The bungalow has a nice homely feel to it and the garden is enclosed for children and dogs. The shower is also great after a sandy beach trip. The location is quiet but you can stroll to the beach in 10 minutes or into Southwold shopping area. A lovely base to explore from. Good weather for dog walks a bonus! Overall though we love Southwold, the seaside, pier and the location and property. Apart from one trip for crabbing to Walberswick we did not wish to venture anywhere and the weather was perfect. I had an estate car and parking initially was daunting, my partner has a 4 x 4 pick up..he would not have been able to park at all. We generally managed to find off road parking but I imagine in summer months this would be tricky. A property perfect for kids, elderly and dogs.

I am very impressed with the ease of booking with Heritage Holidays, so impressed that I am a repeat customer. The handover, return of keys, and the treats in the property were all 1st class. Seamist is tucked away from the road so is a lot quieter than it may otherwise have been. It was very comfortable, furnished to a high standard, and well equipped (tv, internet, kitchen).

    Southwold Holiday Guide

Southwold in Suffolk is a delightful seaside town: its colourful beach huts, stylish shops and restaurants, lovely sandy beach, award-winning Pier and atmospheric harbour, not to mention Adnams Brewery, all add to its timeless appeal.

Southwold really does have everything you need for a traditional British holiday, and a stay in one of our holiday cottages in Southwold, provides the perfect base to enjoy its many attractions. Bring your bucket and spade for some genuine seaside fun, take a gentle stroll along the promenade, marvelling at the spectacular views of the town, beach huts and Lighthouse, or spend an afternoon in the Electric Picture Palace, Southwold’s delightful 68-seater cinema.

Adnams’ Sole Bay Brewery is at the heart of the town and you may smell the hops as you walk by. You can also book an Adnams Brewery Tour, sampling some of the ales and beers, or purchase your tipple of choice from Adnams Cellar and Kitchen Store on the high street.

The locally caught fish is outstanding and a walk along the Harbour with its characterful, ramshackle fishing huts is a ‘must’. Try The Sole Bay Fish Co and the newly opened Southwold Smokehouse or fish and chips from Mrs T's and sit on the harbour wall to eat them. You can buy your fresh fish here at the harbour – ask and they’ll keep it on ice for you if you want to continue your walk across the Bailey Bridge and along the River Blyth tow path the to pretty village of Walberswick. There are some lovely walks around this area, click here to find out more.

For the brave-hearted there is the Coastal Voyager for a speedy trip out to sea crash
