Oulton Broad Holiday Guide
Oulton Broad is a deservedly popular holiday cottage destination, being close to the coastal resorts of both Lowestoft and Southwold and, of course, forming the southern gateway to the picturesque Broads National Park.
In the heart of the village is an interesting mix of small local shops, places to eat and a pretty park where various events take place throughout the year. Oulton Broad is one of the finest stretches of inland water in the UK and all manner of boats can be hired for those interested in watersports, from sail boats and canoes to powerboats, as well as for those looking for a leisurely cruise of these magnificent waterways on a day cruiser.
Close by are the wide sandy beaches at Lowestoft, with its seafront Marina Theatre staging eclectic performances from family pantomime to concerts from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as the charming town of Southwold, with its independent shops and restaurants along the High Street and its award-winning Claremont Pier.
Oulton Broad is, quite simply, the perfect base for a family holiday cottage or weekend getaway for two.

The setting of this pub is something rather special – with panoramic views from the windows across Oulton Broad.
