Description
Area Type: Village
County: Suffolk
Country: England
Postcode: IP19 9EF
This cottage is over 400 years old and the beautifully restored exposed beams in the cottage create a wonderfully cosy ambience. The pretty red brick facade to the cottage is late Victorian and the brick and flint wall on the back of the cottage is an example of early Victorian architecture.
However, the hand built kitchen is very up to date as are all the facilities and equipment throughout this stylish cottage. Bed linen and towels compliment the stylish decoration and enhance the period features of the cottage with its plank and latch doors, brick flooring and orginal oak floor boards.
There is off road parking for one car at the rear of the property, shelter for bikes and storage for wood for the wood burner.
Wenhaston is a pretty village with a popular pub, The Star, serving good home style food, within walking distance of the cottage, plus the Queens Head at Blyford which is a longer walk but still accessible without a car. There is also a basket ball court and small skateboard park in the village as well as the well known 'Woottons of Wenhaston' plant nursery, next door to the farm shop.
Southwold and Walberswick are 15 minutes drive away, with the RSPB centre at Minsmere approximately 25 minutes drive. The market town of Halesworth will provide visitors with a Farmers' Market, a wide variety of shops offering locally produced fruit, vegetables, meat, eggs, everything you might need without going to a big supermarket.
