Set in beautiful undulating Suffolk countryside, the Barn is ideally located to explore both the Suffolk Heritage Coast with its popular seaside town of Southwold and the quieter villages of Walberswick and Dunwich, the Norfolk Broads and the variety of historical towns of villages such as Framlingham, Norwich, Bungay, and Beccles to name but a few.
Entry to the barn is via a spacious hall with plenty of hanging space for coats and storage for boots and shoes, prams and pushchairs. This leads down a few steps into the open plan dining area with table and chairs for eight to ten people and the large sitting area with wood burning stove. This area has oak floors and underfloor heating. A large L-shaped kitchen is adjacent to the living area and up two steps and has French doors opening on to the south facing paved terrace. A breakfast area leads to the the utility area with washing machine, tumble dryer and plenty of storage space. Also opening off the hall and down two steps is a groundfloor bathroom with WC, hand basin and bath and separate shower cubicle. The ground floor also accommodates the master bedroom with four poster bed and en suite bathroom with bath and shower, with adjoining sitting area. Entrance to this area is up three steps to the sitting area and then up and down two steps into the bedroom area. French doors from this bedroom open out on to a paved and sheltered garden.
The staircase to the first floor leads off the hall and up to the heavily timbered and vaulted landing area. The landing leads to a half stairs to the family bathroom with WC, a hand basin and bath with hand held shower, and to two spacious bedrooms, one is a double and the other has 2 single beds and bunk beds, sleeping 4 in this room. The landing area overlooks the spectacular grand void and gallery area from where one can see the incredible workmanship which many years ago built the barn. A further double bedroom is found off the galleried landing and up a few steps, this has beautiful views over farmland. The landing then extends up a few more steps to an open galleried bedroom with double bed. Although it is open, it is quite private.

Holly Bush Barn is the most beautiful house my friends and I have ever stayed in. The pictures are amazing, but do not quite do it justice – it is bigger, even more beautiful, the beds are exceptional, great entertainment set up, comfortably homely and every room is wonderfully well finished! Thank you to Julie the housekeeper who was so friendly and helpful providing the finishing touches - including a log fire on our late night arrival…perfect. There is not one thing I could find to complain about. It was the perfect holiday and we hope to be back very soon!
Eve and friends, December 2011
This has been one of the best properties we have stayed in, it certainly matches the description and pictures on the website, very high quality of equipment, furnishings, beds etc, loads of equipment to use, a really fantastic barn for a large group, shame it is so booked up as I am sure we would return very quickly!!! Lovely housekeeper, very helpful and friendly. It has made a very memorable 50th even more so. Mrs Needham May 2010
