Originally two cottages, Coxswains Cottage is now one cottage and provides luxurious accommodation with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, handbuilt kitchen and cosy sitting room.
Thorpeness is a unique and delightful village which was originally built as a holiday village by Glen Stuart Ogilvie in 1928 and boasts mock 'Tudor' buildings and cottages and a wonderful 70 acre Meare dotted with small islands and inlets, where sailing dingies and Indian canoes can be hired from Easter to October. The village also has a pub, grocery shop stocking good local produce, brasserie and Country Club where tennis courts can be hired and a variety of entertainment can be enjoyed during the summer. Golf is available at the excellent Thorpeness Golf Club (handicap required) and the links course in Aldeburgh.
Holiday cottage accommodation
Sitting Room:Cosy room with two comfortable sofas, TV/DVD, double glazed windows and Plantation shutters.
Kitchen:Hand built cabinets with granite worktops, gas cooker and hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, built in dishwasher, butlers sink, door to patio. Table and chairs for 4. Stairs to first floor.
Master bedroom:King sized bed with VI Spring mattress, bedside tables and lamps, wardrobe with drawers, Plantation shutters, cotton bed linen and down duvet, hair dryer.
Bathroom 1:Spacious bathroom with bath and shower over, WC and handbasin, shaving point.
Bedroom 2:Twin divan beds with VI Spring mattresses, wardrobe, bedside chest, lamps and chair. Plantation shutters.
Bathroom 2:Spacious bathroom with bath and shower over, WC and handbasin, shaving point. Washing machine and tumble dryer located in cupboard in the bathroom.
Gardens:Front garden area is south facing with views across the village green and meare. The rear area has a small private courtyard furnished with tables, chairs and a bench.
Gas central heating throughout. Bed linen and towels provided, please bring your own beach towels. Regret no pets and no smoking. The bedrooms are accessed via separate staircases and therefore although next to each other are not connected.
