Thorpeness is a delightful village which was originally built as a holiday village by Glen Stuart Ogilvie in 1928 and boasts mock 'Tudor' buildings and cottages and a wonderful 70 acre Mere dotted with small islands and inlets, where sailing dingies and Indian canoes can be hired from Easter to October. The village also has a pub, grocery shop stocking good local produce, coffee house/cafe and Country Club where tennis courts can be hired and a variety of entertainment can be enjoyed during the summer. Golf is available at the excellent Thorpeness Golf Club (handicap required).

Bathroom: with handbasin, WC and bath.
Shower room: shower cubicle, WC, handbasin and airing cupboard.
Garden:2 picnic tables with benches are provided. The garden is well fenced with a gate leading out to the beach.
